Are preserved flowers real?

Yes. Preserved flowers are real flowers harvested at their peak. The sap and water in the petals are replaced with a plant-safe glycerine solution, which keeps the petals supple and the colour vivid. They are not plastic or silk, and they are not the same as dried flowers, which are simply dehydrated and become papery.

How long do preserved flowers last in Singapore?

Kept indoors, out of direct sunlight and away from high humidity, preserved roses typically look their best for 6–12 months and often longer. Humidity is the main enemy here: avoid bathrooms, kitchens and open balconies, and never water them. A dust with a soft brush or a cool hairdryer setting is all the care they need.

Our guide to preserved vs dried flowers compares lifespan, feel and price in detail.

When to choose preserved flowers

  • Anniversaries and romantic gifts where you want the gesture to last.
  • Office desks and reception counters with strong air-conditioning, where fresh flowers fade faster.
  • Recipients who travel, or who would rather not care for fresh flowers.
  • Keepsakes, including preserved bridal bouquets.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do preserved flowers need water?

No. Never water preserved flowers; moisture will damage them. Keep them dry and away from direct sun.

Do preserved flowers smell?

Preserved flowers lose most of their natural scent during the process. Some designs are lightly scented; if fragrance matters, choose fresh flowers.

Are preserved flowers available for same-day delivery?

Ready-made preserved designs marked “Same-day available” can be delivered today when you order by 2pm.

What is the difference between dried and preserved flowers?

Preserved flowers are rehydrated with glycerine so they stay soft and colourful; dried flowers are dehydrated, so they are lighter, more fragile and more muted. Read the full comparison.
