Sending flowers to a hospital in Singapore

Policies differ by hospital and by ward. General wards usually accept flowers, but intensive care, high-dependency and some oncology or isolation wards may not allow fresh flowers for infection-control reasons. Before ordering, check with the patient’s family or the ward.

  • Include the patient’s full name, ward and bed number, and a contact number.
  • Choose a basket or arrangement rather than a bouquet, since vases are not always available.
  • Pick low-scent flowers; strong fragrance can bother patients who feel unwell.

Recovering at home?

Bright, cheerful colours like yellow and peach lift a room. A dried or preserved design is a thoughtful alternative for someone with a weakened immune system, as it involves no standing water.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can flowers be delivered to hospitals?

Yes, to most hospitals in Singapore, subject to ward rules. If a ward does not accept flowers, we will contact you to arrange a redelivery to another address.

Which flowers are best for a hospital visit?

Low-scent, compact designs in baskets: roses, carnations, chrysanthemums and gerberas. Avoid lilies (strong scent and pollen).

Are white flowers suitable for get well wishes?

In Chinese culture, all-white arrangements are associated with mourning, so for get well wishes we suggest cheerful colours instead. More in our Chinese flower meanings guide.
